To fall asleep under the stars

So, one month without even an hello.. I can explain that. I've been camping with friends, then I was shipped off to my aunt's small, internetless town and finally, I went to Madrid with my family. So, I do have a couple of things to tell you guys about. First up, the camping trip!

Um mês sem dizer palavra.. a sério que eu posso explicar! Nestas ultimas semanas estive a acampar com amigos, depois fui para a terrinha da minha tia, onde estive sem internet, e por fim, fui com a familia para Madrid. Portanto sim, desapareci, mas voltei com algumas coisas para contar. Agora, o acampamento!

Everyone knows that camping pretty much means not doing anything. So, we honored that idea. We slept on blankets under the trees, ate cookies with nutella and spent our afternoons enjoying the warm coziness of the sun. It was an amazing week, spent with amazing people.

Toda a gente sabe que acamapr quer dizer não fazer praticamente nada. Nós, como pessoas respeitáveis que somos, honrámos essa ideia. Então os nossos dias foram passados a dormir em cobertores à sombra das àrvores, comemos bolachas com nutella e passámos as tardes a aproveitar o sol. Foi uma semana fantástica, passada com pessoas fantásticas, não podia ter sido melhor. Ok, podia, o escaldão que apanhei não foi muito divertido.

How many cats are too many?

Yo, webcam photos because I don't have my camera here. I'm crashing at my aunt's house until my family gets here and we go to Madrid. That also explains the boredom that have been my outfits, staying inside with ten cats (for reals) doesn't make me feel like dressing up.

Quantos gatos são demasiados gatos?
Vamos fingir que estas fotos de webcam são de super alta qualidade enquanto eu não arranjo uma máquina decente, ok? Estou a ficar por casa da minha tia até à minha familia chegar para o casamento e depois Madrid! Isto de ficar em casa fechada com dez (sim, dez!) gatos não me dá grande vontade de me arranjar portanto.. é o que se vê.

Medieval times

How to look presentable to spend all day traveling by train and bus and then going out at night, an essay. Or, how sneakers go along with everything.

I'm visiting my roommate's hometown so, in theory, we can study for the exams. So far, we've visited the medieval fair that's in town, went to the beach and ate a lot. It's almost the same thing, right?

And I'm still in love with my henna tattoo.

I like how the clothes and makeup make me feel extra confident, and I think that makes me calmer during the exams. And there's nothing wrong with a little self-love ;)

Not all afternoons of hard work have to be boring. Sometimes, with the right amounts of friends, sunshine and fresh baked goods, they can actually be fun.  That was what happened a few days ago, when we were faced with an assignment of 30 pieces, made with stencils and spray paint.

Of course, as it always happens, we ended up procrastinating more than anything, oopsies.

Nem todas as tardes de estudo e trabalho são chatas. Com amigos, sol e bolos acabados de fazer elas até se tornam divertidas. E foi isso que aconteceu no outro dia, quando tivemos de entregar 30 trabalhos de stencil e tinta de spray.

Claro que, como sempre, acabamos por brincar mais do que trabalhar, oops.

Summer's back and so am I

School's out for Summer
Classes have officially ended and, with them, my first year of university. It's scary how it went by so fast. Still, I loved every second of it, and made new friends, some of which might help me around the blog by taking photos of me. So yay for the possibility of outfit posts!

Lately I've been enjoying the goodness of free time and sunshine, despite having exams to study for. Breakfast while sitting on the balcony reading, massive doses of fruit and trips to the beach have been some of my favorite things. I also donated blood for the first time this week, which is something everyone should do, really. 

I'll be back, I promise!

É dificil de acreditar mas as aulas já acabaram e, com elas, o meu primeiro ano de universidade. Opá, passou tão rápido mas foi tão bom. Ultimamente tenho aproveitado o tempo livre e sol, embora que raro, entre o estudo para os exames. Pequenos almoços ao sol na varanda, doses monumentais de fruta, visitas à praia, coisinhas que sabem tão bem. Esta semana, finalmente, pude dar sangue pela primeira vez! É uma pequena acção que faz uma grande diferença, algo que todos deviam fazer!
Bem, eu volto, e desta vez isso é uma promessa!

He did it again

Oh, baby!

Jason Wu is one of the few designers whose work I follow and oh boy, is he worth it. I am seriously in love with his aesthetics and honestly, I think he's designing for me, he just doesn't know it yet. 

To be honest, I just have so many feelings and emotions over his FW 2013 show that I can't articulate them in a way more articulate than "asdfghj baby" so.. yeah. 

Shameless Self Spam

I never thought I would like to take webcam pics so much, but it's become one of my favorite things to do haha. I like to make sure my make up looks extra good on exam days, I find it makes me feel more confident. These photos were taken my last exam, and I was feeling pretty and good about myself. So yeah, self photos.

Fox's new series, The Following, has caught my fancy so everyone should go see it, as in right now.
I can't not mention Paperman, a new short movie from Disney that was recently published on Youtube and has made the rounds ever since.
Also, my newest obsession, Tegan and Sara's new album, Heartthrob, has been on replay all week.

Other things worth mentioning:
I'm back on twitter (@zmariane), so everyone should go follow me. Or not, as you wish, I'm not that interesting.
France has just approved a bill that redefines marriage as between to people, a first step towards marriage equality and the Chanel Couture show closed with two brides walking together, which is exciting.

By now we've all been spoiled by Wilfox's lookbooks. This one's no different, with much thanks to the inspiration behind it all, Clueless. Who doesn't recognize that yellow suit? This collection is cute, girly, colorful and it's making me want to grab a bowl of popcorn and watch the movie again.
